THE HISTORY

For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ.  1 Corinthians 12:12

Restoration Fellowship Church was founded in 1997 by Pastors Michael and Lisa Brooks. Pastors Brooks envisioned people from many different walks of life coming together to encounter the power of God; these individuals would eventually become a family worshipping together as one body. Pastor Brooks began his quest to fulfill the vision initially in the form of a radio broadcast entitled “Restoration Fellowship.”  That broadcast blossomed into the first service of Restoration Fellowship Church held in the Ramada Hotel in Southfield, Michigan on the first Sunday of March 1997.

From its inception, the church has experienced tremendous growth numerically and more importantly in its ministry endeavors. By the hand of God, Restoration Fellowship Church International (RFCI) is engaged in specialized ministry exploits that are effectuating change in the lives of people both near and far. Kingdom Kids Life; Youth Challenge; Restored Women Sharing (RWS) with its retreats and conferences; Life Change Men’s Fellowship; prison ministry; as well as the dynamic music ministry through our praise and worship aggregation, Royal Priesthood, are all components to this God breathed vision. Moreover, the vision of this house is clearly elucidated in a mantra communicated by Pastor Michael, “As we press pass the limitations of what we know and have known, the gifting of God will come forth like the waves of the sea! We are all born with great purpose and a destiny, the Father has connected our fulfillment to the advancement of His kingdom. Our job in the earth realm is to complete the task at hand.”

The power of God is clearly realized in the midst of his people as he moves by his spirit in the vibrant worship services held weekly at RFCI. God in his faithfulness has blessed Restoration. As Pastor Brooks so often proclaims, “Vision is not the building, vision is what happens to people inside the building.” To that specific end, ministry that touches people has been and will continue to be the goal of Restoration Fellowship Church International.
